1986 560SEL tranny in a 1991 560SEL

will a transmission from a 1986 560SEL work in a 1991 560SEL? Is it better to go with the 722.350?? decisions, decisions......

I'd say the physical dimensions will work, might be some minor ratio changes which cause the suffix to change.

I've swapped a couple of W126 trannies around, all fit fine.

Ratio's are the same. There are some internal updates that you'll miss out on..most notably the improved/re-designed B2 Piston that won't explode around the 130K mark.

I'd replace the B2 while you have it out..
