ball joint pressure?

I just had some ball joints installed in the front lower control arms of my '91 190E. The arms aren't installed in the car yet, but at least one ball joint will fall out if you tap on it with very little force. Is it supposed to fit that loosely? If it's supposed to be really tight, what can I do? Thread-lock? Spot weld it? JB-weld? The old ball joints were probably original (185K miles). These will probably last the rest of the car's life, so I don't forsee ever having to remove them again.

Jonathan

If you lightly tapped on the top of the ball joint and it fell out, would that concern you?
