New Message from FSS. whunter?
I generally check the oil level in my w220 s430 each week or so. I use the dash readout most of the time. It will say oil level OK, Low, or high. I scrolled down to the check oil function today and it simply says "Perf. Serv. on Time." The FSS shows 6100 miles till the next A service is due. Dipstick is a little north of the middle which should be OK, right? Why the change in message?
Thanks

The system also watches the calender for service intervals. How long since last re-set?

Last reset at "B" Service about 5K miles ago.
I finally figured out what the deal was. The car is smarter than I am, hardy har har:-) When you shut the engine down it will not check the oil level for a few minutes, just gives the "Perf Serv. On Time" message. I assume it gives an interval of time for the oil distributed throughout the engine to run home to the sump.
After typing the post last night, I went back out and checked. "Oil Level OK." When can I expect my "Idiot Question of the Day" trophy?
