Help - Steering Lock contact switch removal

I am replacing the steering lock on my 1981 240D. Everything has gone smooth getting it out of the car. Stupid question - How do you get the black plastic Contact Switch off the side of the steering lock ? I have tried the key in every position but still no luck. Can anyone help ?
