W210 4Matic Front Wheel Bearing Removal

2000 E320 wagon 4Matic, 141k miles.

I am going to replace the front wheel bearings. I have read the mercedes Benz WIS and want to know if anybody has done this before and has any advice before I start? Also, after I get the steering knuckle off do I need the Mercedes Benz specific wheel bearing removal tool?

I have changed both front axles before so I know I can get to the bearing/steering knuckle easily. I have a shop hydraulic press and was hoping that I could get the bearing out with that? Or is there any suggestions for using after market bearing pressing tools?

Thanks, Patrick

Did you ever get these replaced on your own? I believe I have a bad bearing on my 02 (a groan from the front right at low speed)
