i have bearing surfaces that have run for a couple of hundred miles with cerma and you can both see and feel the obvious difference.the treated surface feels like glass.

David Poole is a crook and I woild not believe a thing he says. My 190 was stalling out. I suggested a fuel pump problem. I was told that I knew nothing that fuel pumps on Mercedes seldom if ever went bad. After selling me ignition wires fuel filters battery and several hundred dollars. You got it, it was the pumps. David had done other work on my car that failed with the results of 150.00 tow from bf egypt to another shop that resulted in all of his bypassed wiring jobs and other incomplerte work being found to the tune of about 1000.00.Stay away from this guy and his shop European Preformance. An Like John Hancock. I have no fear in sigining my name..George R. Chapman Dallas, Texas

Wow, David has some 1500+ posts and you dig up a post from a year and a half ago...to respond to. You failed to mention how, and, if you tried to resolve your issues with Mr. Poole.

id you contact Mr.Poole and express your lack of satisfaction? Wanna bet there's more to this story than John Hancock's version?

I am sorry to hear about your mishap. Personally I have had good experience with David.

Ignoring the rant and getting back to the actual contents of the old thread, does anybody have any long term experience now that this product has been around for a year?

Anybody remember the original claims from the slick-50 people? That those little bits of teflon would somehow bond to the metal of the motor and do good?

On the whole, slick-50 reduces oil flow through the filter. It's bad stuff in the long run. The interesting thing is that a google search for slick-50 points that out on the 3rd post down (while the rest of the top 10 seem to be from the manufacturer).

With this cerma product, it took several pages of google results before I found this one...

http://www.craftkb.com/Uwe/Forum.aspx/metalworking/19540/Question-on-oil-additive

The thread starts off saying "it's probably snake oil", before some product selling types start to go on about what it does. Then the teckies (these are people that deal with metal for their livelyhood) get on their case.

I have to say from what I see (and what I don't see), this product is snake oil.

Charlie,

I put it in my Minosota 6.9 and had it in there for more then a year with no negative effects. The 6.9 engine did run quieter when I put this stuff in so I can definitely speak to that. They have a new website which has a little more detail called Ceramic Performance
