1989 230e 2.3 engine stalls while driving at night with lights on and wont restart until you turn key off wait 15 seconds and then restart and the same thing happerns during the day the vehicle has no problems can any one help

How long are your day commutes?

Sounds like your alternator isn't "generating."

If that's not the case, then you can assume there's no possible connection between having your lights on and how your engine runs.

You can, of course, turn your lights on during the day ... .
