my 92 500sl trunk lock will not open the
driver or passenger door. locking either
the driver or passenger door will lock and
un lock all doors including the trunk but
the trunk lock will not lock or unlock any
of the doors. any ideas?

I have the same situation with my 300E. When I go to the store I just have to always unlock the doors before going to the trunk. If I unlock the trunk first the alarm will go off.

Try and disconnect the battery. My 1988 300E was doing the same thing but with the drivers door. You could unlock the drivers door and the rest of the lock would do nothing. I pulled everything apart before I found on this forum, that you can reset the system by disconnecting the motor for the power locks. I just pulled off the negative battery terminal for about a minute, and they work perfect. Unfortunately for me, I had pulled apart half the car before trying this.

problem fixed! THANKS!! I didn't even have to
disconnect the battery, I just removed the fuse!
