Both of my 190e's down on power?

Hey guys,

I had my 16v inspected by a local (well known, very good) shop. He didn't do much with the engine, but shortly after leaving (though not right after leaving) the car developed a problem. I went to pull out on a road and went WOT, when it got to 4000RPM it fell flat on its face. Accelerated very slowly after that.

Now, on my 2.6, I cleaned out the ICV, and put it all back together. After driving around a little bit, I went to get on it, and the car had the same problem, just wouldn't hardly go anywhere above around 3500rpm. The car absolutely wouldn't go any faster than 85. I thought it was hilarious...

Anyways, what could be causing this problem? Does God just hate me or what? Both cars? Same day?

I did some searching, but didn't find anything very helpful, I found a few people with a similar problem, but no fixes were reported.
