heavy rain = crazy alarm?
My 87 300e apparently has a rain allergy. The last time it rained heavily, I opened the door and the alarm beeped once. Didn't think much of it till this morning. Last night we got a heavy downpour and when I went to open the door, the alarm started and refused to quit. I eventually just cut the wire to the alarm horn and pulled the two fuses for the flashing lights. Yikes. I checked the alarm control unit to see if it was wet and it was bone dry. I'm going to wait overnight to see if anything that might be wet in the door mechanism gets a chance to dry off. Has this happened to anyone? Also, how do you remove the alarm control unit? There's a zip tie that's easy enough to get undone, but it seems to be locked down in place by something else. Thanks!

This happened to me in my 126 body.
What I learned from here to do was: Once the door is unlocked, open it, and unlock it again. A week or two after the heavy downpour that I was in, the alarm stayed quiet, and I did not have to double unlock the car again.
