Chain guides W124 260E 1988 450000km
Is it wise to change preventively the chaine guides on my car W124 260E 1988 450 000km? they are from origine. The engine runs smooth, no strange noise.

If they are the nylon/plastic type, I'd say yes, very wise at that mileage/kilometerage(?). It's not a question of if they will break, it's when.

in deed I wish to avoid the breakage. I don't know if they are nylon/plastic or other material. Yes that is kilometrage. Can it be done without removing the timing chain?
