1992 300TE what to look for

I am looking at a 1992 300TE with 201000 miles on it. It is a pretty good price, but I am wondering what things to look for with these models. I own a 123 diesel, and love it, but I am not familiar with the 124 gassers. Any suggestions as to known problems, or red flags would be very helpful. Thanks!!!!!!

I assume the car has a 103 engine.
* Head gasket at the right/back of the engine.
* Valve seals/valve guides if the engine likes to drink oil
* A/C: A leaky evaporator is a major major major job to replace.
* Rear suspension operation.
* hard shifting transmission (need a rebuilt), especially if it acts funny in reverse.
All the rest is pretty straightforwards.

Is '92 also one of the bad engine wire harness years or is that later?

Bad wiring harness was the m104 engine of later years. As stated above, the model you are considering has the m103 engine. At the mileage of the car you are considering, you will most probably need new valve seals.
