Shouldn't be.
Did you close the door when you did it??? I usually have to try 2 or 3 times for it to take.

Thats strange, my buddy has a 1997 S320 and it most certainly doesn't have FSS.
What are you trying to do? Whats the problem?

I am sure it is a 1997 S320 but i don't know if it has FSS. What i am trying to do is reset the "little Wrench" symbol which i believe is the service reminder indicator. In the tread some else called it an FSS.
I have tried the different combination listed in tread but unless i am doing something wrong no results. |

Do you have an owner's manual? It's in there. Might be slight variations from model to model.

My '97 S320 has no such animal. Maybe yours is late in the '97 run and has the FSS that apparently was implemented for '98's.

I have looked in the owners manual for service indicator and FSS but found nothing. I have also search my star CD with no results
could the little wrench symbol be callled something else? |

As with many problems, the key to the solution is in clearly defining the problem. This has gone from how to reset FSS, to does it have FSS, to the little wrench displayed on the instrument panel. Seems like I remember reading that all FSS cars require the fleece oil filter. '97 M104 engine does not use the fleece filter.
So, specifically, which light is this? For my '97 S320 there are 6 to the left of center and 8 to the right of center. The Check Engine light is the rightmost light on the panel. According to my owner's manual the Check Engine light displays the words, Check Engine. Mine has never lit, so I don't know what it actually would display. Steve |
