C280. Vibration.
Hi all...
I recently purchased a 1994 C280. The vehicle has Intra 17" wheels with some taiwanese tyres (Nankang). There is a vibration on the steering wheel even at lower speeds (eg. 60Kmh) and I notice the vibration can be felt from the seat as well. Mercedes Service said it is because the lower control arm bushes are worn but the place that I bought the vehicle from doesn't believe so and has attempted to fix the problem yet I feel the vibration is still existent. Any idea who is right? Thanks alex |

I would start by getting the tires and wheels high speed balanced, not just balanced regularily.
If that doesn't help, I would take the car to a good independent mercedes mechanic and have them diagnose and check the suspension and related components. Alon

I would first check the wheels for offset - make certain they are really compatible with the car for your suspension setup. Then swap the tires front-to-rear to see if you notice an improvement, then get the alignment checked. If this fails and there are no worn suspension parts, the tires may be a poor match for the chassis geometry.
