I just got some JR filter for the out side vents beside the wiper arm. Filter #421 series W124 300-E. I read the instructions carefully and they should slip in with the white face up and the top open channel should fit over the top peice,
they will not fit they are too big at the corners to slip into place.( Am I missing something,) was this investent a wast of time. I noticed the part number says #421 21827 and the instructions say series W124 85. Does this mean it only fits early 124 series ? The box I got the picture form and sent to JR filter in france has a different number after #421 29617 i beleive it also mentions 93 model? Am I missing something? I did not think they changed the cowel plastic vent through the years of development of this model? Am I wrong? Bob Geco 1992 300# sedan |

Bob, I installed the JR #421 filters you sent me on my '92 300E with no problems. Just a dab of Vaseline around the edges of the filter and a little movement while installing snapped them right into place. I temporarily moved the rubber sealing strip out of the way during installation, then put it back after I was finished. Hope this helps.
