Transmission compatability

I have a 1985 Euro Coupe 230CE. The transmission is starting to act up. It is a number 123 270 52 01 722 401 02 223232.

I have found one that is a 123 270 76 722 416 02 170830.

First, will this swap work with little or no hassle?

Second, I've done an entire day's worth of research. I've discovered that the 722 401 of mine is the important number. Will the 722 416 work? What is the 416 vs. the 401. What do the different numbers mean specifically? All posts and internet data just say they are the auto identifier and are important for knowing how to set the modulator pressure. But what do they specifically mean?
