'92 190e 2.3 no run after tranny swap
I swapped out the 722.408 trans that was pooched with a rebuilt 722.400 as it was close to free and was freshly rebuilt with 1000kms on it. I dropped the original trans with no issues. Made the necessary mods to the kickdown solenoid and modulator. Upon re-install, I hurt my back doing stupid things like lugging whole transmissions (without taking out the torque converter) and placing them on the bench. I let our junior guy bolt up the trans. The next few days I inspect and find he did not seat the converter and just bolted up the trans
. Luckily the car wasn't run, so I was able to separate the cases and push the converter back and seat it properly onto the pump. Bolt it all up and go to start. Car seems to catch, but does not want to continue to run. I replaced the crank position sensor as I thought the original one may have been damaged when the junior guy initially bolted it up as the flywheel was pushed a bit in. I can hear the car prime fine. I get spark fine. I smell lots of fuel being dumped in. The car ran fine before the swap. I need some direction here - I checked all connections and all appears good. Confused
