My original '90 OEM muffler lasted only about 4 years; and MB wanted $500 for a new one. I bought a Midas for $250 with the lifetime warranty. They last about 3 years or so, and I stop by and have a new one installed totally free. They always clamp them, no issues whatsoever. I'm on my 5th free Midas. The middle resonator section is now the third one, they last a lot longer (lots of short trips on this car). One thing I did on the latest rear muffler - it tilts slightly forward, so the water collects and rusts the forward, lower weld. I drilled a tiny hole there, ala Corvette OEM, and now the water drips out. This muffler looks like it's going to last a lot longer with this little fix.
