Any problems with Phillips HID upgrade kit for '96 E320?

Has anyone done the Phillips HID light upgrade which only consist of the xenon bulbs and ballast.....Supreme Power Parts and HID4LESS has these kits. They are about $500-600/kit. Question is that does it make the computer think the regular headlights are burned out and therefore the computer will state "LIGHT MALFUNCTION" everytime I turn on the lights?
