Oxygen Sensor
I have a 97 C280 and the check engine light started to come on intermittently. I checked the codes and it is P0130. Can anyone confirm that this is the O2 sensor before the cats?
Thanks for your help. |

Yes, for the front.
ODB2 codes P0 130 thru P0 135 are all for the front sensor

that is the generic code for O2 sensor circuit for bank 1 sensor 1
you relaize these codes don't actually infer what item needs to be replaced they are an indicator in which direction to investigate. if your car has high mileage and original O2 sensor, then a high probability that replacing that O2 sensor will either fix or help. have you searched for what others have done with a P1030 on a C280? |

Thanks for the info. The car has 175,000 km on it so I am thinking replacement is due. I picked up a new Bosch sensor on my lunch hour and will install on the weekend. I'm new to the site so I did a search on P0130 code but didn't turn anything up for a C280 - mostly E320.
