shift lock on 772.06 shift lock

I am about to install a new tranny into my 99 c280.. but when i took off the old tranny i kinda broke this little black piece in back so i cant slip it into the new tranny.. what can i do or what do i do?? I think its for shift lock.. not entirely sure though..

ok.. when you take off the tranny, there's a wire connected to it. its in the back of the tranny.. i think its what keeps the gear in park if you dont have the keys in teh ignition..
