So I finally finished replacing the evaporator on my 1995 Mercedes E320 following the excellent instructions that David Selig (BoxfordBenz) posted on this forum. But I ran into a slight problem reassembling the centre console. I've got this connector that I cannot figure out where to connect it to. It's in David's write-up under the radio connections, but my radio only has room for 3 plug-ins and they're all there. Can someone tell me where this connector goes? It's the one with the clip and single wire shown on the attached photo being held by the fingers. My radio is a different model and has just the 3 large plug-ins plus the antenna so I don't think it fits onto the radio. Bob

Could it be a ground wire for the radio?

That's a good suggestion. I'll check to see if the connection is grounded or live to see if that's the case. Bob

Just realized that there's no place on the radio for the connector, so even if it's a ground, I can't plug it in. Anyone else have any ideas? Bob

(Sorry for the poor resolution) it looks like it may be "Cable Shield,Ground".

Could your Mercedes have had a different radio set installed originally?

Thanks for the wiring diagram. I had already gone down that path since I have the CDs and WIS, but could not identify the specific connector.
The radio in the car is the original one according to the Becker website: http://www.beckerautosound.com/1492-1994-95/index.html
It shows only the 3 connectors which I've already connected. It's just the wire with the clip that I'm trying to figure out. It's a single wire (oragany-red with a blue stripe) that ends in a male connector which is attached to a metal clip about 1.5 inches long. It may not even belong to the radio as there certainly isn't a spot in which to insert it.
