420 SEL orange panel light coming on, why?

Hello all. I have a orange panel light indicator that has a circle with three vertical lines on either side on the circle that has just started to come on in the last day or so when I startup the car cold.
This indicator is located on the left side of the steering wheel.
Any help would be grateful.
