1996 C280 rough starting
I own a '96 C280 with over 197,000 miles. It is in very good condition, not having given me any major trouble.
Recently, I have had trouble starting the car when warm. It starts well when cold or just after driving it. It will sit and turn without turning over unless I give it some pedal. I have just replaced the OVP without any change. My question is could this symptom be worn ignition coils or something else? I also would like to know if there is a fuel relay. The fuel pump works well, the filter needs changing. Your expertise is appreciated. Steve Dale 1996 C280 2001 E430 |

If you do a search on OVP you'll see that some part numbers are bad and some are good. You've probably got a good one, but it is an easy thing to verify - you can do it in a couple of minutes.
If you verify that the OVP part number is good, then my nest step would be to do a search on "crank position sensor" and see if that fits your symptoms. It might be what is causing you problems.
