I have been having problems with my central locking system. Took the car to the repair shop and they determined that it was a blown fuse as nothing else coded. However, I had to replace that fuse the very next day and each day since then because it keeps blowing.
I took it back to the repair shop today, and the fuse did not blow while in the shop. The systems on that fuse are the central locking, the anti-theft alarm and the dome/reading lights.
They say they tested each system and found that the central locking pump has na excessive amp draw at times. They feel that this is most likely the cause of the short and the blown fuses. This is a $700+ repair. Before I agree to this, I just want to see if anyone else has had this experience and if it indeed turned out to be the pump or something less expensive.
I also have noticed that my center vents do not work when the air conditioner is on. I saw another post that connected this vacuum supply pump to that same problem, so I guess it could be the problem.
Any help/advice is appreciated.
