White smoke from bad fuel?
This is with my '85 500SL.
I regularly help out a candidate running for a local office by driving my convertible in parades. Two weekends ago I was sent out to far Eastern Kansas for a parade, and fueled up at a small mom & pop looking gas station on the way home. I have since noticed, though intermittently, white smoke, and my hand gets slightly damp when I hold it by the exhaust pipe. The smoke is odorless. My heads were redone in 2002 with about 15k traveled since and my coolant levels/oil levels are normal. I'm curious if this is symptomatic of watered down fuel, and my options. I have about half a tank remaining, and am wondering if I should go to the effort of draining the fuel, or just topping it off with fresh fuel. My main concern is that I first noticed it after some spirited driving, but I suspect a blown head gasket would be smoking constantly and consuming coolant, correct?
