Question Downshifting

I m not sure if this is an issue but i guess sth is not working as it should.
When i drive the car and i want to come o full stop , i feel the tranny downshifting the gears. Not extreme things but noticable....

I m going to have a tranny service this week , should i replace the conductor plate too or leave it as is?

Any ideas what it might be?

Thanks in advance

I can feel this in my 4.5, always could; assume it's normal for that vehicle. However, we need to know what type of car this is for! That way owners of the vehicle can tell you if it is normal.

You are absolutely right.
The car is a 98 SL500 with the 722.6 electronic transmission.
