W126 Front seat cover replacement - Loads of pictures!

I recently replaced the front seat covers on the two front seats of my 85 300SD with excellent donors from an 87 420SEL from Mercedesdismantlers.com out in Sun Valley, Ca. I took some pictures along the way for your viewing enjoyment. I'll take some more of the finished product and add more narrative later. It was not hard, just a little time consuming.

I see that ever popular repair tool, "The Pool Noodle." Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures. It turned out well and that was a creative reuse of leftover material in the back seat.
I guess I'll need to remove some of mine to restitch the seams that have pulled loose.

My friend fixes the seat covers panel by panel. Sews in panels made from the back seats, but most of the time the seat cover is made entirely from the back seat Mercedes Leather. He does arm rests too.

Here is my W140 seat and arm rest made from the original back seat leather. He charges about $150 per seat (bottom and back).

He is the best kept secret since their is a place in North Hollywood that charges about $800 bucks for two front seat leather. At 150 a seat, that is the bargain...

Porsche Convertible Tops : BMW Seat Covers : Mercedes Leather Seats : Soft Top : Porsche Carpet : German Auto Tops Inc.

My friend will install them too.

Let me know. I will forward his email to you.

Martin

Here is my old driver's seat-

Here are some W140 seats with brand new fresh leather
