1986 420 sel timing issues
Just did head gasket job and timing chain I set all timing marks by the book, but I think the book does not give enough information, the car wants to buck when you want to start it can any body help.

As long as the crankshaft is at TDC with the #1 cylinder on compression stroke & the cams are indexed, that part is correct.
Have you made sure that the distributor is also correctly aligned? When the engine is at TDC does the centerline of the rotor button align with the punch mark in the distributor housing?

Yes I have #1 on TDC on the Compression stroke and both cam marks align up, but the book that I have did not show the mark for the distributor gear, I am taking it all apart and checking all the timing marks
again,I hope this will fix the problem. |

There is a line on the distribtor body and the rotor should be aligned with that.
