searched for code P1700 index 01

95 SL320 MIL came on, code P1700 index 01 came up on my code reader, searched but could not find code any place I can find codes for my car or a site to referance.

On that car...the code means the up-shift delay for catalyst warm-up isn't functioning properly.

ON "cold" mornings tha system is designed to delay (higher RPM) the 2-3 shift.

Most common issue is a vacuum leak in the control system.

Try searching up-shift delay.
