ECU resolder question as ABS light always on
Examined the boards in an 84 500SL ECU and notice that on both sides there are about half a dozen bare looking pins that appear to have never been soldered though seem to be 'glassed' in.
The reason I'm looking at the boards is that the ABS light comes on after a few mph at startout though goes off on engine startup. I've removed and cleaned all 3 sensors in sequence starting with the front ones. The light stayed off for a day after cleaning each of the front ones, then started coming on again. So I've cleaned up all 3 now but after cleaning up the rear, there's no change. I'm hesitant to alter the ECU after seeing nothing obviously wrong, but am curious about said 'bare pins', hoping someone knows of this. Anyway, all help is appreciated, of course. Courtney

I don't have specific knowledge of that board. However, there can sometimes be pins on circuit boards that are not soldered for different reasons. It is probably not the cause of your problem. However, if you post a photo maybe that will help.
