91 300SE, Where's the converter drain?

Now another question. I am having a tough time getting any manual or C.D. on this car so please bear with these simple questions. Am trying to drain the torque converter on this car. Have rotated the converter 360 degrees and don't see any sign of a plug to drain it. Is it hard to see? Should I be looking up thru the converter grill or should I be looking horizontally thru the front opening to the converter? Looking up vertically there is a plastic dohickey about 3/4" in diameter on the converter grill. Does that have any thing to do with it? Thanks for your consideration. Milt.
