No Left Side Dash Lghts

Greetings Forum Members,

The dash lights on the left side of the instrument cluster on my 1990 300E
stopped lighting and my alternator has stopped charging.
I have searched the forum for information and have learned that if the alternator charging indicator light bulb has gone bad the alternator will not charge the battery.
My question is, will a bad charging bulb cause all the lights on that side of the instrument cluster to go out also?
I have removed the charging bulb, it looks good. I will replace it anyway later today. I hope that it solves my problem.
Does anyone have experience with this issue?
Any help would be most appreciated.
