Have you tried cleaning the switch with spray on electrical contact cleaner?

Can you try fixing the switch? That is a likely source of the trouble from your description. I don't have that car though. The fuse trick could work but what else is on that circuit? You might knock out a lot of things.

I did spill a little soda on the center console which is probly the reason my window is moving down on its own, but now it down all the way and will not go up.
I have popped open the center console but cant get the wires to come out do i need a special tool. Also when i disconcet the window wires will the alarm go off?

Window INOP

No the alarm will not go off. The most likely remedy would be to changed the window switch out. Hopefully the soda spill will not mess up the electronics in the gear shifter. Good luck

p.s. I have very little luck with the window switches on that model after being subjected to liquids. Always have to change the switch!!

Window Problem

I have a 92 300E that gave me a similar problem last year. Sometimes it would drop on its own or refused to go up until I shut the ignition off and a few minutes later it would work. My problem was the Convenience Control unit located under the rear seat on the drivers side. This unit controls all of your windows, sunroof and door locks. Hence the name is convenience controls.
I found it for about $250.00 and it was an OEM MB part. It is easy to put in provided you have the tech and mechanical skills. Having lived in MN for 20+ years you definitely don't need that problem this time of the year.

Good luck,

Tarheel75
