Heater works, but is loud, and not much heat! Help!! its cold in Utah

My son has a 1991 190E gas Mercedes. We just had $1,110.00 worth of work done for the pulleys, belts, and shocks on the idlers (whatever that is) anyway, he turns the heater on, and it is grinding, and not much warm air blows out of vents. What can it be?

Ok
Well, if it is Loud and it is also Cold, an easy/cost effective solution is Ear-Muffs....no more noise and not so cold anymore....

Enough of that !!!

The blower motor bearings may need some attention. The blower motor is down under the W/W wiper assemblt, under the hood...you may get away with some lubricastion, but you may also need a new blower motor..don't wait too long b/c a dragging blower will certainly burn up the Regulator.

how do you get to the heater blower motor?

I can hear it by the wipers, but how do you get into it? Is it something we can do? or is it a shop thing? And how do you know what parts to buy? Is there just a blower?

Think about that question...........How would I know what you can do ?????

You have to pull the wiper assem and a few plastic panels and shrouds to get to it..it is down the bottom. Blower and Regulator.

Search the archieves ...there is a pic Turorial in there somewhere..
Then you can tell if this is something you can do..

If you have a little machanical apt, it is not a difficult job and considered a DIYer task...if you have a problem putting stuff back together, bring it to someone.
