95 E320 - operation with ignition tumbler removed?
I successfully removed the ignition tumbler and have a new part on order from the local MB dealer. While I am waiting, it is possible to operate the car without the ignition tumbler installed. And if so, how do I do it?
233k mi on the clock! Thanks

Yes, that works well.
I drove for about a week that way while waiting for the new tumbler. With the tumbler removed, you will see there is a rectangular notch and a screw driver fits very well. You use the screw driver to turn to the right to start the car. Then you remove the screw driver while driving the car (Mercedes is so high tech). When you want to shut the engine, you put the screw driver in again and rotate to the left. |

...and while you are using the screwdriver, make sure you have the Reg handy..... you don't want to be making new friends down at "HeadQuarters !!! "
Ver are your Papers ?? !!
