Passenger Side Transmission Leak
I serviced the transmission on my '85 190E about two months ago. There are external leaks from the passenger side of the transmission. I tightened down the cooling tube where it attaches to the housing because it was leaking from that area. Is there a gasket that I should replace? Also, to the rear of the transmission from where the cooling tube attaches to the trans there is another leak coming from some sort of housing. Is that the B2 piston cover or secondary pump? I don't have a schematic diagram of the trans so I am unsure what that area is. The CD is of no help regarding tranny.

The leak from the front could be the dipstick tube or the bowden cable. Both have rubber o-rings that harden over time.
The rear on the passenger's side is the secondary pump. It also has o-rings in it.

Benzmac,
Is the bowden cable the same as the Trans Control Pressure Cable? Jeff |
