m103 updated water pump question

I am replacing my water pump and I bought a new Graf replacement...

Well it states it requires this:

...which I purchased....But where does it go?? The original does not have this I understand.

Any help?

Thanks,
Robert

That looks like the pipe that comes across the front of the engine from the climate control hose....the return coolant pipe. I'm guessing you didn't need it, unless the Graf pump has a different angle connection on it or something for that pipe than the original...

There is a heating water return line (part# 103 200 14 52) which connects to the auxiliary heating pump. The part could be the water pump drain tube (part# 103 200 37 01) which may not be required, depends on engine number.

Never had to replace that tube, but you will need the silver O-ring that seals that tube end to the water pump.

I just remove that tube (across the front of the engine)...

when I replaced my head gasket. The o-ring is the normal black rubber. If you bought the head gasket kit, it should be included.

You can see the tube in front of the engine in the attached picture.
