560SEL rear suspension sagging to one side

Have a 560SEL that's sagging on the driver's side. When I bought the car last month, the rear suspension was extremely rigid (giving a harsh ride), and the car was sitting lower on the rear driver's side than on the rear passenger side.

> Just had the nitrogen accumulators replaced, which has fixed the rigidity problem and harsh ride
> The car still sits lower on the rear driver's side wheel
> When given a downward push, the rear driver's side bounces a lot more than the rear passenger side.

What are possible problems? Is one of the struts leaking? Or is it some other part of the hydraulic system (the level controller, pump, etc.)?

Thanks for your help!

-N

Most likely coil spring SAG & a worn-out strut.

Coil spring SAG causes most SLS issues.

check your subframe bushings especially the one on the rear connected to the frame and rear end housing.. If your car wasn't carring a lot of weight in the rear for a long period of time then your springs should be ok..this problem is usually subframe bushings

I was told that the struts only go bad if they are leaking. So it seems like that's not the case, since he replaced his accumulators, and the ride is still bouncy on one side. The only other thing to go bad would be the struts, correct?

Maybe there is still air trapped in a part of the system causing the lower drivers side? My car actually has a similar problem right now that I've been trying to diagnose, but I really don't know where to start.

Yeah, there is something definitely wrong. These cars are supposed to have a cloud-like ride.
