95 MBZ C280 programming parameters

Have replaced c280 control module for srs and need to program the parameters. a 6 digit code. all codes clear and dont want to ruin the control module by improper code. Car has no side airbags. Have Baum CS2000 with latest software. This car has older SRS unit being replaced and it does not have parameter coding. Usually we find this number on the box shipped form the dealer however the supplier used by our customer is an importer.

ONLY the factory HHT, Star diagnosis lap top, OR the BAUM CS 2000 can program the SRS control unit. Also the AST 5700 Retriever will have this ability soon.

Bob, how do like the CS2000?

Considered buying one but too much $$$ for me. Bought an AST Pointer for myself and my tech has the Retriever.

How does your CS2000 play?

C280 SRS parameter code for programming new control mod

There were no helpful responces to our problem. However
after hours on the internet and calling every MBZ dealer
and shop forman in the Greater Bay Area. We took a wild
guess. The Answer?? The factory tool automatically enters
the 'parameters' during its programming process of asking
if the car has side bags, seat sensors, etc.. The
aftermarket device (Baum CS2000)does not have the ability
to do this and it requests a 6 digit code for the
parameter. Alldata and MOD and Mitchell collision quote MBZ
as that if the incorrect number is inserted that the SRS
control module will become defective and require
replacement. What then is the code?????? IT IS THE DEALERS
SERVICE CODE NUMBER WITH A '0' IN FRONT OF IT. I.e. dealer
code 05619 becomes 005619. Customer even pulled car out
from under us and took to another MB tech. He ended up
retracing all our steps and we found the answer . He used
his Baum and now we are his best buds too. 3 Techs and
hours spent. But success is sweet if not always profitable.
Our thanks to the Service dept and techs at Smythe MBZ in
San Jose for some insight. The answer to the problem was a
Spock like 'best guess'!

IT IS THE DEALERS SERVICE CODE NUMBER WITH A "0" ADDED TO IT
