slk 350 engine code
I have a question for the board. It concerns my 2006 slk 350. I pulled engine codes due to a check engine light. The reader returned a P0070 ambian air temp sensor. My question is where is this sensor located and is this for the temp gauge in the car or is it intake air. By the way car is running fine but temp gauge may be off a bit. Thanks for any comments.

The intake temp gauge is in the MAF and if it was on the fritz you would get a MAF code. The ambient temp gauge should be somewhere along the front bumper, usually on the drivers side of the front bumper. It should simply pop out after you unplug it.

The sensor is near the L/F foglight. If you don't see it, it probably got knocked out of it's mounting tab. Is your outside temperature indicator reading too high? That would explain the CEL. If the difference in temps reported by the MAF vs. ambient sensor is too great, engine management knows something's wrong.

According to the local bank the temp reading is about 5 degrees off. Also I did just change a parking bulb on the left side headlite. Possible I knocked the sensor out of place. Thanks for the inputs. Voz
