I keep failing smog test due to CO at 7.78 and limit is 0.71.
After first fail (which also was written up for too much smoke) I R&R'd the cylinder head that needed to be done due to excessive oil consumption (one quart of oil to Vegas and one quart back).
It was a four day job--rebuilt head, new timing chain, new plastic chain runners, new oil chain runner, water pump, idlers and other parts that were worn. It was a grueling four days that kicked my butt (much thanks to this forum and Dave Barnhart's website--
http://davebarnhart.com/mb300e/Default.htm -- for helping me through).
The engine fired right up and runs great! No more smoke--BUT Extremely high CO?
What should I do now?
