W210 Mirror Spring
I seemed to have lost a retaining spring in my right side mirror. The mirror now moves freely in and out of the mount on the door. I have checked the EPC and there does not appear to be any mounting hardware listed. Can anyone tell me how this goes together?

this is a common problem with these cars. I doubt you lost the spring, the mounting point problaby broke off

It is indeed a common problem, and if the plastic mount where the spring attaches broke off, I found the only way to "fix" it (without the expense of purchasing an entire assembly) was to jury-rig braided stainless-steel picture wire from the spring hook around the mount and back and then tighten it by winding the wire with a pair of needle-nose pliers until it was virtually wobble-free. I made that repair 5 years ago on mine and it hasn't failed yet!
