Lowering W210 wagon
 

Need help. I am looking into lowering my 2003 W/S210 wagon RWD. I purchased the H&R sport spring kit which drop frt 1.4 and rear 1.3 inches. I was told I do not need rear springs as its adjustable by rear valve? I was told I need rear springs and the rear SLS will adjust with the front ride height or I was told it will adjust with the original rear ride height which means it will constantly try to increase the rear height after being spring lowered. Which really is it and what do I need to do to get this done correctly? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Yes it is a W/S210 chasis not the W211 for the wagon for 2003.

I've been thinking about this as I have just bought a set of springs for my 210 wagon also. Put the front springs on and see what happens with the rear. If it does nothing I will put the rear springs on, but I like the rear a bit higher than the front, and I just put the fronts on my 95 wagon.

The rear springs also need to be stiffer and shorter and unless you want a truly "slammed" car with outrageous tire wear you will need thicker spring pads all around. After installation, you will need to adjust the rear control valve link like you would for the stock springs, that is with 1/2" or so free suspension compression before the self-leveling action kicks in.
