M103 IACV Hose Replacement

i have a pair of the IACV hoses laying around and took a quick look under the hood and it doesnt look easy to replace the hoses.

is there a better way to replace the hoses than to just start ripping parts out that are in the way? btw, this is for a 190E 2.6

no easy way but the new hoses should be flexible. Check for cracks and leaks first, you may not need to replace them yet.

oh they are cracked and brittle. i did notice that the new hoses are very flexible, so it might not be too bad then.

Not the IAC hoses exactly but I did it first time without too many issues..

When I did it I ripped out the old ones chunk by chunk, then spent about 2 hours getting the new ones in, thankfully they are flexible, I made them even more so by warming them by a heater prior to installation.

The difficult one is the end that goes onto the engine block under the manifold. I needed to get underneath the car and reach up.
190e 2.6 does not have much maneuver room in the engine bay

Its an easier job if you remove the fuel regulator.

It's much easier if you unbolt the intake manifold and pull it back.
