Fault code 007 help please
I've been experiencing the following problem on my 1995 SL 500 and my tech hasn't been able to isolate the problem:
After a cold start and driving the car for several minutes, if the engine is shut down and restarted hot the car goes into limp home mode (minimum power, rough idle). If allowed to cool down and restarted, problem disappears. I had the codes recalled and I'm getting a code "007 - Ignition system defective, fault from fuel/ignition control system" Any ideas where I should start would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris |
There are 2 coils, distributor caps, & rotors. Any failure on any of these can allow only 4 cylinders to run instead of 8, is this what is happening?? Of course the ignition control unit must send signal to both coils so that all 8 cylinders will run.
