cruise control interchangeability
The cruise control died on my 91 300E 4Matic. I had a rebuilt unit in my 83 380SEL that wasn't being used, so I put it in my 91. The part numbers are different, but the connection is the same. The 91 has the coding plug and older 83 model does not.
I've got it plugged in and it is working so far. Does anyone know if this will cause any problems? Todd

Until 1989 MB made a different unit for every car.
The difference(s) was Dependant on horsepower & torque curve. Then they decided to build only 1 version & use coding plugs for all of the different variations. Since it works OK, run it.

Thanks MBDoc. I really missed my cruise and should have replaced it earlier.
