'86 420SEL Crank Pos Sensor: Help
Hi, I need your experience: I have the bolts out of the bracket tube and the one out of the sensor, and I can turn the sensor in the holder, but I can't seem to pull it out. Is there a trick? Another means to hold it? Thanks for your help. This is the one at the rear of the engine, to the left of top on the bellhousing, and it's a batch to get to.

Once the little allen bolt is removed it should pull straight out of the opening without much issue....

Thanks, that's what I thought, too. I'll keep at it; maybe a little spray will help.

FIXED (I hope...)
Hi, a little spray, and the dirt holding the sensor loosened, got it swapped out, engine started right up and idled perfectly. I made about a 10-mile loop this afternoon, nary a problem. I'll try a longer trip soon and really test it out, but I declare it FIXED. Thanks for the help!
