300ce convertible grey market
I have a line on a 1993 CE convertible euro import
the speedometer and odometer read in kilometers, even though a u.s. faceplate was slapped on it.. i think i may be able to pick it up for 7k.... it has 74k kilometers on it... that would be about 50k miles or so it is in good shape...the heated seats do not work. I haven't inspected it close enough to see if the wiring harness or head gasket have been replaced. any clues there? it seems to ride nicely... tires are a bit noisy since they are 45's. I would switch them out eventually... it has euro lights.... and interesting... the euro model did not have cruise control...but it does have the aforementioned heated seats... i have read that i may be able to replace relays for the seats. oh the presenters make motor noise, but do not work.. any thoughts?

The presenters have a plastic gear that wears out.
Don't forget about the 104 engine head gasket issue, the evaporator issue, the engine wiring harness issue, and old flex disks. The cab is a fun toy ![]() |

Lee, be sure to have a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) performed by a MB-trained tech who is intimately familiar with that vintage MB automobile. As for the seatbelt presenters disable them by removing the fuse ... reach back with your hand just above the floor and grab the seatbelt ... much simpler than bothering with the presenters. I disabled the seatbelt presenters in both our 300CE's. That fuse controls power to the passenger side outside mirror, so adjust it before removing the fuse.
