Airmatic warning light on 2000 S500
My driver side shock was bad and the car was riding low on that side. the airmatic warning light came on to visit workshop. i had the shock replace but the car is still lower on that side. is there anything else that i need to do to get the car level again? any help will really be appreciated.

It has to be recalibrated

how do you do that? do i have to take it to the MB shop? or can i do this myself?

Usually the strut tops leak- there are repair kits for these, the whole shock doesnt necessarily need to be replaced. Reseal both at the same time.
Provided your pump didnt burn up trying to keep your strut inflated, and the relay and fuse are still good, you can use a jack to jack the car up level, then press the 'raise' button inside and listen for the pump to run. The pump is not going to run if its fully deflated.

Hey JohnHef,
the pump and the shock are good. I can hear the pump start up as soon as I press the raise button. I'm not sure about the relay or the fuse. where would I find that in this model? Dionne V. New York. |
